As medical digital transformation accelerates, how to fully and efficiently utilize massive healthcare big data to improve the level and quality of healthcare services becomes crucial. In hospital information systems, medical terms with the same clinical significance appear in various forms, severely hindering the integration and application of medical data. Therefore, mapping diverse medical terms to standard medical terminologies is vital. Entity linking technology can better address this issue, but it is highly challenging. Moreover, existing medical entity linking research primarily focuses on English electronic medical records, with relatively less research on standardization of medical terminologies for Chinese electronic medical records.

As a leading enterprise in the fields of medical big data and artificial intelligence, DHC has reached computational results comparable to international advanced levels in entity linking—an internationally recognized technical challenge—relying on its independently developed data standardization analysis technology and a team of experts in clinical medical terminology ontology. This showcases the innovation capacity of Chinese research teams and technology companies in the international medical informatics community. It effectively addresses issues commonly found in Chinese medical institutions, such as low structuring degree of electronic medical records and weak related technologies, enhancing doctors' work efficiency and research level.

Standard and standardization of data are important supports for promoting high-quality development in medical research. DHC continuously contributes significantly to international medical terminology standards and standardization of Chinese medical data.

Firstly, DHC is currently the only official partner in Mainland China that has obtained dual license qualifications for SNOMED CT institutional license distribution and training certification. Dr. Gong Mengchun, Senior Vice President and Chief Medical Officer, has served as a director on the SNOMED International Global Management Committee for six years, becoming the first Asian expert to hold a board-level management position in an international organization in the field of medical data standards, laying a solid foundation for the application of SNOMED CT in China.

Secondly, leveraging its independently innovative large model technology as a core booster, DHC achieves high-throughput, high-precision automated high-quality term coding for Chinese clinical data, fully supporting the deployment of international terminology codes such as SNOMED CT/LOINC/ICD10/RxNorm, providing core assurances for high-level standardization and deep application in teaching hospitals, and making solid contributions to the innovative development of medicine in China.

Additionally, DHC is committed to promoting the development of Chinese terminology standard systems. Compared with international advanced levels, there is still a gap in the construction and practical application of Chinese clinical terminology standard systems. Guided by the national standardization development outline and relying on its strong technological strength and rich practical experience, DHC promotes the construction of China's Human Phenotype Terminology Ontology System, striving for breakthroughs in international standards, and providing comprehensive support for high-quality development in data-driven biomedical research. In the first National Biophenotype Standardization Working Group, Gong Mengchun was appointed as a member, and the human phenotype Chinese ontology and coding standards proposed by DHC became one of the first fourteen standards included for discussion. In the future, DHC will continue to provide hospitals with platforms and services capable of international-level clinical research using forward-looking multimodal big data technology and international common standards. Meanwhile, it will deeply explore the value of Chinese health medical data, comprehensively promoting the high-quality development of data-driven new clinical research.
